Teens Level 2

Volleyball Classes for teenagers at Astoria and Long Island City. Level 2 is for players that have achieved better ball control and know the basics of how to pass, set, spike and serve. 

Basic skills to achieve this level: 1) great communication skills. 2) really good foot work (capacity to move after the ball). 3) understand and perform well all basic techniques.

It is very important the player repeats the drills learned in class at least 2-3x a week on their own or attend other classes with us.

Minimal age is 11 years old for outdoor programs or programs at Astoria. Minimal age is 13 years old for indoor programs at Long Island City. Every participant should have their own volleyball and bring it to every practice.

High-intensity weekend clinics coming up at Frank Sinatra School (Q501) in Astoria. First one will happen September 18th (Friday) 6:15pm to 8:45pm, and Saturday September 19th (Saturday) from 9:15am to 11:45pm. Focus: Attack and Serve Clinic. The second day is Set & Attack. SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER - Sessions at Long Island City on Thursdays from 7:15pm to 8:45pm at Q301 Academy for Careers in Television. JULY/AUGUST: Sessions at Astoria Park on Sundays 9am to 10:15am at Triborough Bridge Playground A. Days: 9/20, 9/27, 10/4, 10/11, 10/18 (Sunday 9am to 10:30am - Halloween inspired mini-volleyball tournament) and 10/25. Fee is $165 for six sessions. CLICK HERE to register.

OCT/NOV/DEC: Registration is now open for our new combined weekly schedule, featuring 12 total sessions on alternating Mondays (7:30pm to 8:50pm) and Saturdays (10:30am to 11:50am) at Q501 Frank Sinatra School for the cycle: October/November/December. To provide maximum flexibility, you can sign up for the full combined track or choose to register exclusively for the Monday or Saturday dates. All players that were registered for level 2 during the September/October cycle competed at mini tournaments.

We had medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, and also the Most Valuable Player trophy.

We adapted the games so players would have the chance to experience rallies and understand the importance of hard work to achieve good performance at sports.
