Teens Level 1

Volleyball Classes for teenagers at Astoria and Long Island City. Level 1 classes focus on learning from the fundamentals. We go over every technique to teach your teenager how to do it, and make you repeat it over and over. We also implement drills that help with foot work and communication, basic skills to play volleyball.

At this level is very important the teen player repeats the drills learned in class at least 2-3x a week on their own or attend more volleyball classes with us. Every participant should have their own volleyball and bring it to every practice.

Minimal age is 11 years old for Astoria programs, and 12 years old for Long Island City programs.

AUGUST: Indoor sessions for LEVELS 1 and 2 at BQE Fitness at Astoria. FRIDAY 14^th 5-7pm (Passing and setting). WEDNESDAY 19^th 5-7pm (passing, setting, service). FRIDAY 21^st 5-7pm (setting, spiking, service). MONDAY 24^th 5-7pm (review, and defense). WEDNESDAY 26^th 5-7pm (review and offense). FRIDAY 28^th 5-7pm (mini tournament). JULY/AUGUST: Sessions at Astoria Park Monday to Friday from 9am to 12pm during summer break. Register for the week (s) you would like your child to attend. Minimal age is 10 years old. Every player will need to bring their own volleyball, and water. Knee pads are optional. CLICK HERE for all details.

SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER - Sessions at Long Island City on Thursdays from 7:15pm to 8:45pm at Q301 Academy for Careers in Television. JAN/FEB/MAR: Sessions at Astoria on Sundays at Q501 Frank Sinatra School. Days: 1/11, 1/18, 1/25 (from 1:15pm to 2:30pm), 2/1 and 2/8 (from 12:15pm to 1:30pm - mini-volleyball tournament on 2/8), 3/1, 3/8, 3/15, 3/22, and 3/29 (from 1:15pm to 2:30pm - mini-volleyball tournament on 3/29). SOLD OUT!

All players that were registered for level 1 during the September/October cycle competed at mini tournaments.

We had medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, and also the Most Valuable Player trophy.

We adapted the games so players would have the chance to experience rallies and understand the importance of hard work to achieve good performance at sports.
